Sugar Fix

1.30.2013

I have these two friends who make these cunning remarks like "uhmm.. it's not summer now, Kelly" every morning when leaving our senior parking lot to go to class. I mean it is pretty cold in the mornings but come on! We live in California! The weather's always bipolar but it's essentially sunny which I concentrated on while I was progressively defrosting in my car this morning.

My childhood friend Evelyn took a picture of me and I just had to blink which is unfortunately a normal occurence whenever I take pictures. I'm hoping it might pass as if I did it on purpose..to some extent haha (:

I am in love with nature. I mean who isn't? I just have no clue why I haven't posted a single nature pic so I thought I'd get away with it since I'm wearing a floral skirt and all ;)

My ombre hair is never genuinely portrayed whenever I take a picture which can ultimately be frustrating. Sometimes it comes out pikachu yellow or pumpkin orange which is pretty eccentric. However, this picture seemed justifiable so I was pretty pleased :D
Okay. So you know when you buy something as a spur of the moment thing and as you glare back into your shopping bag you think..."Why in god's name did I buy that"? Well this happened to me last year and I got pretty lazy to return it so I just kind of let it comfortably hide in my jewelry box until I somehow had a surge of motivation and free time. I decided to channel my inner Tom Binns and redo my tacky and hard to pair neon necklace with random colors from all over the spectrum.

Jacket: Urban Outfitters
Necklace: H&M
Nail Polish: Urban Outfitters
Skirt: Brandy Melville
Shirt: Forever 21
Socks: Nordstrom
Boots: Steve Madden
Bag: My mom
Rings: Forever 21

After hand painting my necklace with my lavender purple, chilly mint, and shimmering unicorn glitter nail polish I decided to compose my outfit around it. Sugary sweet pastel shades may seem quite muted and innocent but they can actually amp up a look in an unexpectedly audacious way. To make it seem more believable, I opted for my leather-sleeve pale denim jacket and my ethereal, super feminine floral skirt.  Airy pastels concoct such a delectable, powdery palette that add a sugar-coated sweetness to any look. Think cotton candy blue, wispy lilac, and candyfloss pink hues.

My worn out black leather boots are incredibly heavenly to wear. When I first bought it, my feet were cramped inside and I thought I'd run out of my Charlie Brown band-aids but I managed and now I wear them as much as I can.

Oh and I got to leave school early today! (: One of the perks of being a second semester senior is that I can ditch school sometimes so I'm definitely taking advantage of it! Apparently, I dodged a bullet by missing an extremely boring class today in my English which hardly seems probable since my teacher has anger management and is practically insane! I'm not even exaggerating.. my palms sweat and my heart thumps louder than a million drums whenever I'm in that class. God, how I hate high school sometimes.

Anyways, what did you do today? Anything new? (:
